Getting here and away
From Aso Station, Sanko Bus runs up to Kusasenri and the Asosan-jo terminal at the crater; the same buses come back down. The express from Kumamoto Station via the airport also ends at Asosan-jo.
The crater can close at short notice for volcanic gas; the buses run to the terminal regardless. The last bus down is on this board; check it before you climb.
