Getting here and away
From Hiroshima Station, take the JR Sanyo Line toward Iwakuni to Miyajimaguchi Station, then follow the signs to the piers, a short walk. The Hiroden tram line 2 also ends at Hiroden-miyajimaguchi, right beside the piers.
Two companies sail the same crossing from the same terminal, about 10 minutes each: JR West Miyajima Ferry, on which the Japan Rail Pass is valid, and Miyajima Matsudai Kisen. Take whichever leaves first. JR departures from 9:10 to 16:10 pass close to the Great Torii.
The World Heritage Sea Route links the Peace Memorial Park pier and Miyajima directly in about 45 minutes. It must be booked by the day before, and the route can change with the tide.
A visitor tax is collected when you arrive on the island. Coming back, the last boats of the day are on this board; leave the island with time to spare.
Hiroden trams stop here too, but the tram company does not publish open position data, so trams are not on this board.
